The Palau Aguilar, Palau del Baró de Castellet, Palau Meca, Casa Mauri, and Palau Finestres now serve as the perfect backdrop for the world's most comprehensive collection of Pablo Picasso's early works. As you prepare to enter, consider that this museum exists because of an extraordinary friendship and shared vision. Jaume Sabartés, Picasso's lifelong friend and personal secretary, donated his private collection to the city in 1963, with Picasso's enthusiastic blessing. The artist himself contributed additional works, including the stunning Las Meninas series that reimagines Velázquez's masterpiece through Picasso's revolutionary lens.
